Some of the best colleges for M.Tech include IISC-Bangalore, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Patna. I would suggest you to go for IISC, Bangalore or IIT Bombay/Kharagpur/Kanpur considering your scores.

GATE score will help you to get in research position.

GATE score is accepted by all major technical institutes and universities such as IITs, NITs, IISc, IIITs, CFTIs, State universities / Engineering colleges and some autonomous universities for MTech. Some International Universities such as NSU Singapore also accept GATE score for MS admission.

Criteria changes every year but for a boy to get a job in PSU throught GATE, you will have to work hard as you will have to achieve under 200 or 300 rank and almost become a topper.

You need to score more than 30 marks in GATE exam to get admission in CIPET.

GATE 2016 cut off for M.Tech CS out of 100 was as follows: General- 25, OBC- 22.5 and SC/ST/PWD- 16.6. You may take it as a guideline for GATE 2017.

GATE rank: GATE rank is also known as All India Rank (AIR). A candidate get his/her GATE rank only for his branch. For example: a candidate from electrical engineering will get GATE rank among all electrical engineers, who attended GATE exam of that particular year.
GATE score: GATE score is calculated out of 1000, while GATE marks are calculated out of 100. GATE score can be calculated using a formula, which is based on normalized marks.

To pursue MS from abroad, you have to appear for TOFEL and GRE exam.

GRE score is not a mandatory requirement for MS in German Universities, but a good score will enhance your chances in getting admission for MS. Different departments have their own criteria for selection of candidates for MS. You are advised to look at the details of departments in which you want to do MS.
