Technical University of Munich, Technical University of Berlin, RWTH Aachen University and Esslingen University of Applied Sciences are well known for its automotive engineering programs though all universities in Germany are world class and competitive. Standardized exams are not required as such, but you can consider taking the GATE or GRE if your academics are not too high. IELTS or TOEFL must be taken, check if the programs are taught in German, if yes you must have German language knowledge. Most of the programs are taught in English nowadays.

Hi,
To study in Germany, an outstanding academic profile is important. Additionally you must take IELTS or TOEFL. German language is not mandatory but knowing the language will definitely add value. GRE or GATE can be taken to increase admission chances. Please refer to the list of universities available on the study abroad section of Shiksha, here is the URL -

Hope it helped.

Hi Revanth,
Diploma are not accepted for admissions in German universities. You need to enroll into a Bachelors degree program in India and complete the first year. Alternatively you can take IIT JEE Advanced. Please check the DAAD link below for more details on Bachelors degree admissions

Both the countries have a great prospect for mechanical and automobile engineering. Germany is good for Civil Engineering where as Canada is good for Gas & Petroleum engineering, but in Germany, German language proficiency is also important.
