In the USA and Canada, TAs teach undergraduate classes. Therefore, universities are very strict about the Speaking Section. Even if your overall score is 7.5, a low speaking score (below 7.0) can disqualify you from this funding.

Yes British Council IELTS Award is a famous scholarship specifically for students who score a minimum of 6.5. Many private organizations also offer small grants to students who score an 8.0 or 9.0.

It is possible to receive need-based aid or specific country bursaries. Universities usually prefer candidates with a 7.0 or higher for fully funded scholarships abroad. Try to prepare well and get a good IELTS score.

Yes! If you are applying for PR in Canada or Australia your spouse can take the IELTS test too. If they get a good score (usually CLB 5 or higher), it adds valuable extra points to your main application.

Well, the IELTS score requirement is not determined by the course type but by the country's eligibility. For English speaking countries like the USA, the UK, Canada, or Australia, you will may need to appear and score in the IELTS exam. It is an eligibility condition by the country and not the course.

You can easily send official IELTS result through the candidate portal. Just select the university name from list and IDP India will send your electronic score report directly to them very fast.

Most students can send five IELTS TRF copies for free if they select universities at time of booking. If you ask for Additional TRF later (INR 250 per university), you have to pay courier fee to IDP India.

You calculate IELTS overall band score by taking average of all four sections. If you check the IELTS Band Score Chart, you see that scores ending in .25 or .75 round up to next number.

A good IELTS band score is usually 7.0 or higher for best colleges. The IELTS Band Score Chart says Band 6 is "Competent", but many students need more marks for visa approval and scholarship.

Indian students need a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band less than 6 for admission to UG courses. For PG courses, the minimum IELTS score needed vary for different courses. Most courses accept a score between 7.0-7.5. The university also accepts valid scores for other tests like TOEFL, Cambridge C1 Advanced and Cambridge C2 Proficiency. The minimum score requirements for each of these is mentioned below for UG courses.
