Hello Subhamoy,
It is interesting to read brochure of IISc. It says, candidates will be selected on the basis of merit list that will be based on any one of the following national level tests. This includes JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

Hello Antarik,
Last year, opening & closing for aeronautical engineering in IIT-B was about 900 & 1800 respectively. I guess this will remain. So, this year too since in the world nothing has changed much. But try to score as much as you can, dream for the best not for worst case scenario.

There no such rank in JEE Mains. You need to score more than the required cutoff to appear for JEE Advanced exam. The cutoff for general category is around 100.

Yes, it is compulsory to qualify JEE Advanced exam in order to pursue B.Tech from IIT. If you fail to qualify JEE Advanced exam then you cannot get admission in IIT for B.Tech.

Devoting one full year for JEE Mains exam preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for JEE Mains. It will allow you take mock-up test and help to score good ranking in JEE Mains and other competitive exams. You should read your 11th and 12th NCERT textbooks perfectly and then go for HC Sharma for physics.
