Once you get a branch in some IIT, you have to confirm that you are accepting the seat. Then that seat is confirmed and can be upgraded, if possible, but once you get a seat, it cannot be lost. Dont worry!

If you belong to general category, you will not get a good branch in any IIT. Perhaps, you can get in good NITs in electrical, mechanical and civil engineering branches. The college takes admission through 3 processes:
1. JEE counseling
2. MHCET counseling
3. Institution seats
You require capitation fees in order to take admission with 3rd option.
