Both the choices you are considering are pretty well. So, you can approach in any direction, however I will suggest you to go for NITs only because government colleges do have bit of edge than a private colleges no matter how good it is. Best wishes.

If you have good marks then you should fill up the form for the NIT. If you are under 40000 rank then do it. Otherwise try out for government and private engineering. College. You can predict the best college according to your score in JEE, Link is given below:-

As far as DAIICT is concerned, the GUJCET Merit number should be less than 400 if you are in General Category, so the percentile rank must be 99 percentile+. Hope this Helps! All the Best!
