Hello,
You are definitely eligible for JEE Mains exam.
You must, overall, score good marks to meet the JEE Mains criteria. Students who score more than 75% (65% for SC/ST candidates) are only eligible to appear for the exam.
A good rank in JEE Mains exam can be grabbed by a good score in JEE Mains along with a good percentage in the board exams. There is a criterion that the marks scored in JEE Mains exam is allotted 60% weightage and rest 40% is for board exams.

Hello Bhavya,
Yes, they are but it depends more on your efforts. The NCERT books are helpful in giving you a clear knowledge of the concepts and the basics, but it is necessary to have some other good books with which you can practice a lot of problems. Only if you practice more, you can perform better.
All the best.

You can apply for JEE Mains. But, you can't expect to get any NIT's or IIIT's or CFTI's. To get these, you must be having minimum 75% marks for general category and 65%marks for SC/ST students or must be in top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.
