Admission in NSIT depends only on the scores in boards and mains. Getting COE in NSIT seems tough with 147 in mains unless you have a category. Although you can surely get computer engineering in some college of IP university with a rank of 1997.

Yes he can surely get admission in NSIT although the branch remains uncertain. With the mentioned scores he can get ECE and if you are a delhiite it would help a lot. Even if you are not you can get ice or other branches like MPAE, mechanical etc.

If you have given the entrance exams for IP university maybe you can get admission in some college from there. Sorry to say but any other govt engineering college seems out of reach.

If you have given the entrance tests for IP university, then you can get admission there . Getting good colleges like NSIT or DTU is quite difficult with these scores. As for any other engineering college (govt) , I don't think it would be possible.

I am assuming you mean NSIT. Although I hardly have any idea about the Telangana board, 98% seems quite a decent score. I think you can get CS in NSIT and if you are from Delhi, it would be a lot better.
