Yes, from 2017 onwards NITs and state government colleges would accept JEE Mains rank. Mains rank would be on the basis of marks you get in Mains. There will be no role of boards mark.

Hello Ankit,
I think both cannot be the same things. Fundamentally, marks decide the ranking. Some state governments are accepting JEE Mains as criteria for admission but then again states are provided with the state ranking. So either states or NIT's, it's rank only.

Hello Saswat,
Yes, from this year onwards, marks obtained in 12th will not be considered. Only your performance in JEE Mains will count. For getting 20k rank, I feel, you will have to score about 280-300.

Hello Rishav,
If you score below cutoffs, it means you cannot appear for JEE Advanced. But, with AIR allotted to you, you can seek admission in any NIT's. If your domiciled state is not conducting own CET, it must be accepting JEE Mains ranking. In this case, you can seek admission in Government College of your state.

Hello,
As per present information, Telengana has not opted for admitting students based on JEE Mains. But then, they can do so even in May/June when the results are declared. In the absence of many colleges to subject themselves for check of accreditation, it's not feasible to rank colleges.

A score around 220-240+ is a good score to get into NITs. NIT - Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, Surat, Bhopal, Jaipur are the top NITs to look for admission.

Hello Siddharth,
Amity University conducts it's own entrance examination and does not depend on JEE Mains score. So, regardless of your JEE Mains score, you need to appear for the entrance examination conducted by AMITY. I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions, kindly revert.

You should re-appear for class 12th board exams as it will become invaluable if you score good marks in JEE mains because your class 12th score is very low.
