If uou missed the JOSAA first round, don't worry you can still participate in subsequent rounds. You don't need to reapply just keep track of the schedule and actively participate in the following rounds. Keep track of the schedule regularly. Check the JoSAA website for the schedule of subsequent rounds including seat allotment results and reporting deadlines.

With a rank of 42304 and an 82.033488 percentile in the EWS category, your chances of getting admission to NITs or IIITs are low; you might be able to secure admission to lower-ranked NITs or specific branches in less competitive IIITs, but getting into top NITs with this percentile is unlikely.

Key points to consider:

EWS Cutoff:

To get into most NITs under EWS category, you generally need a percentile closer to the 90th percentile or higher.

Branch Selection:

Focus on less popular branches within NITs or IIITs to increase your chances of admission.

Through JOSAA counseling you received admission at IIETS Shibpur campus where your qualification and the prescribed cutoff levels match with your category along with your PWD standing and board exam results. Most engineering colleges need at least 60% board marks for admission acceptance as your score exceeds this requirement threshold. Students who identify as PWD receive improved cutoff qualification through additional points between 5 and 10 percent that increases their opportunity to secure a seat. Your profile demonstrates competence in the competitive range for your preferred branch in accordance with previous admission cutoff ra

Admission to IITs via JoSAA counseling requires your state SC certificate which was issued by NCT Delhi. For admission through JoSAA candidates from the SC background must present an authentic caste certificate which was issued by authorized bodies of their state or union territory. The certificate released by authorities in NCT Delhi Union Territory will be recognised because it operates as a union territory. The certificate upload for online registration will be followed by original certificate presentation during document verification. As a student belonging to the SC category you can apply for the 15% reserved seats at IITs.

Admission to IIST is solely through the IIST Online Admission Portal (admission.iist.ac.in). Candidates wishing to apply for admission must register online on the portal. IIST does not participate in JoSAA counselling.

In the JoSAA cutoff, the "closing rank" refers to the lowest rank of candidates who were offered admission to a specific course at a particular institute. It represents the cut-off point for that course, indicating the final rank that secured a seat in the program.

In the JoSAA cutoff, the "opening rank" refers to the highest rank at which a particular institute or course begins offering seats to candidates during the seat allocation process. It marks the starting point of the admission range for that specific programme and indicates the first rank eligible for admission to a course within an institute.

Yes, there are chances. CFTIs admit JEE Main candidates with ranks up to round 10,50,000 in the open and gender-neutral categories. They offer courses like Food Technology and Management, Dairy Engineering, Handloom and Textile Technology, and others to candidates with ranks above 1 lakh.

It is a bit difficult. IIITs admit candidates with JEE Main ranks up to around 54,000 in the open and gender-neutral categories. They primarily offer popular courses such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology to candidates with ranks above 25,000 in JEE Mains.
