Indeed, applicants who fall under the general category must have at least 75% in their Class 12th test (or rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards) in order to be eligible for JEE Mains. The minimum score for SC/ST applicants is 65%. This requirement must be met in order to take the test and be admitted to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The JoSAA opening and cloing ranks are published for all IITs, NIT, IIIT and GFTIs a few hours after the seat allotment result is published for each round of the JoSAA counselling.

The JoSAA 2026 schedule will be released at josaa.nic.in. Candidaes can check the JoSAA counselling dates for all six rounds.

The JoSAA 2025 counselling round 4 seat allotment result will be out on July 4. The counselling process, which consists of multiple rounds of seat allotment, will follow a detailed schedule. This schedule, which will include key dates for registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and related deadlines, has been made available on the official JoSAA website at josaa.nic.in.

The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

Yes. JEE Advanced counselling is conducted by JoSAA. The candidates with JEE Advanced rank have to register for JoSAA counselling for admission to the IITs.

Actually, both these courses are excellent. Both have good faculty, good infrastructure and also high market demand. Only point to make difference is placements. Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur have little much better placements than Electrical Engineering (Power and Automation) at IIT Delhi. Finally, I would suggest you Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur if you consider placements.
