No formal verbatim in favor of JoSAA reducing eligibility cut-off percentages for B.Arch. courses for the OBC category in 2025. The current eligibility criteria stand at 75% (65% for SC/ST) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or amongst the top 20 percentile of the board along with qualifying in JEE Main Paper 2.
Relaxation for the OBC category is applicable only for those seats that are reserved with rank-based cut-offs. There is no relaxation regarding aggregate marks. Trends since 2019 do not provide much scope for change in eligibility. Especially, changes in the eligibility criteria will require clearance from the MHRD

JEE Advanced is the national-level exam which is widely conducted by IITs to admit students for the BTech and BTech Integrated courses. To get into IIT Bhubaneswar through JoSAA counselling, It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA counselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility. However, many institutes admit students on the basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.

With a CRL rank of 8 Lacs and an OBC rank of 3 Lacs in JEE Main, you can likely get a seat in a GFTI through JoSAA counselling. However, getting into a college with excellent placement opportunities might be challenging, specially for highly sought-after branches like Computer Science. You'll have a better chance of securing a seat in a GFTI, particularly during the Central Seat Allotment Board rounds, which often offer more opportunities for candidates with lower ranks.

Yes, even if you were absent for the Maths improvement exam but applied for improvement in all 5 subjects, you are still eligible for JoSAA counselling, as long as you meet the minimum eligibility criteria (75% aggregate or 65% for reserved categories, or top 20 percentile of your board. The CBSE improvement exam is designed to allow students to improve their marks in specific subjects, and you can appear for it in one or more subjects.
