It is advisable to you to appear for an entrance exam to get admission in good colleges and every college is different and hence there admission criteria also varies. You can also check the eligibility criteria of the course on their official website.

CET (Common entrance test) was a state level exams, which was conducted for the purpose of admission of students to the first year or first semester of full-time courses in medical, dental and engineering courses in professional colleges. CLAT (Common law admission test) is for students, who are seeking the under graduate course in law. It is conducted in every year after XII, and covers all the prestigious national law universities, state law colleges etc.

I would suggest you join AU instead of dropping as there may be the chances of not scoring better marks than this year.
