Admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling based on the marks obtained in 10+2.

JEE Mains is required to be cleared if a student wishes for admission in any of the National Institutes of Technology or centrally funded technical institutes or also into IIT. However Tamil Nadu Government since last year, has stopped entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in the state. Of course this is applicable for government colleges and government aided colleges. Deemed to be universities located in Tamil Nadu are outside the purview of this order, hence you are required to score well in your class 12th examination to get admission into this college, since these marks only will decide your merit in the li

Madras institute of technology does not offers BE (Automobile Engg.) or any UG BE programs for diploma engineering students. The admission in these programs are based on 12th marks, Interested candidates needs to registered in TNEA first after declaration of 12th result, a centralized counselling process is organized by Anna University for admission in various undergraduate engineering programs.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 along with mandatory subjects from a recognized board/university or authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are eligible to apply.
Mandatory Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Minimum percentage in class 12th: 50%.
