Hello, Admissions in Tamilnadu are based on strict criteria which are given out by Anna University which controls and processes the complete admission system for admission to different engineering colleges in the state. I am attaching a link which will give you all the required information about this. Please go through this and decide for yourself if your son is really eligible or not. Hello Syed,
JEE Mains is required to be cleared if a student wishes for admission in any of the National Institutes of Technology or centrally funded technical institutes or also into IIT. However Tamil Nadu Government since last year, has stopped entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in the state. Of course this is applicable for government colleges and government aided colleges. Hello friend,
Madras institute of technology does not offers BE (Automobile Engg.) or any UG BE programs for diploma engineering students. The admission in these programs are based on 12th marks, Interested candidates needs to registered in TNEA first after declaration of 12th result, a centralized counselling process is organized by Anna University for admission in various undergraduate engineering programs.

You need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria in order to seek admission in BE in Aeronautical Engineering:
Candidate must have passed 10+2 along with mandatory subjects from a recognized board/university or authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are eligible to apply.
Mandatory Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Minimum percentage in class 12th: 50%.
