The closing rank for general category student for mechanical engineering in 2016 was 17926 in JEE Mains.
This rank for ME was before the spot round.

Mechanical engineering from IIT-Delhi is a dream of many JEE aspirants.
For the same, you need to get a rank under top 500 if you are a general category student.
IIT-Delhi is one of the top 5 IITs.

You got a good rank. I am a bit sure that at this rank, you will get admission in IIT-Delhi. But can't predict which branch you will get. You can use Shiksha JEE Advanced predictor tool to know the branches available.

A Mechanical engineer in India ends up by getting an average placement of INR 2-3 LPA.
But, if you manage to get job out in foreign country like Germany or Australia, then you will get an average package of INR 6-8 LPA.
