IIT, Kharagpur's electrical engineering should be your first priority when compared with IIT, Kanpur's mechanical engineering.
Computer science and electrical engineering are very high paying branches. Hence, they are always preferred by toppers.
On the other side, mechanical, known as the 'ever-green branch' is not as ever-green as it seems. The demand is not very high, neither low in the current scenario, but one thing for sure, this field is never destined to decline.

The admissions into Amrita University and its other campuses are based on the rank secured in AEEE. They don't consider JEE Mains marks as it is a private deemed university. Score a rank like 4000 to get Amrita University.

With this rank, you will not get any seat in colleges. You should go for management quota.
