Either you can go for direct second year to the BE in mechanical, automobile, aeronautical stream or you can get a job in private sections as well, and can also prepare for RTO motor inspector exam. Also, you can get a job in ONGC,DRDO ,etc.

Jobs for mechanical engineer in India are not enough and worthy.
A Mechanical engineer in India ends up by getting an average placement of INR 2-3 LPA.
But, if you manage to get job out in foreign country like Germany or Australia, then you will get an average package of INR 6-8 LPA.

CV Raman is a good college. But, Computer Science engineering department of CV Raman is more famous and worthy than mechanical engineering department.
However, Mechanical engineering in CV Raman is also good.

When it comes between VIT and SRM, VIT would be better than SRM University.
So you need to prefer VIT-Vellore to SRM University. VIT has better rankings and offers better education. It is known for its placements so you can prefer VIT Vellore for mechanical engineering.
