Doing a Diploma in fashion would be like quenching your thirst to know fashion. And, it will be beneficial to you at a knowledge level. I would suggest you to go for a degree programme. NIFT tends to be the best and will encourage you to develop as an individual of knowledge, and articulate the learnings from the field.

Minimum eligibility for visual merchandising course is a pass in plus two examinations from a recognized Institution in any discipline. In most cases, visual merchandising is taught as one of the major papers in fashion design or technology courses. Most colleges have a different provision for admission. You need to contact the institute officials personally for specific admission details as it differs from one college to another. Hope this information helps. Please feel free to revert.

Well, you have more than a lot of options one can think about. For eg: after B.Des (FD) - you can work as a fashion designer or a stylist or a fashion consultant or merchandiser or print designer and even a graphic designer. It depends on course to course (FD and FC are more versatile and vast courses of NIFT).

1. You need to create an account and appear for the entrance exam.
2. The exam is held all over India, once you crack the first exam of CAT and GAT. You need a common merit rank under 150 to get admission in NIFT - Mumbai for fashion design.

You may do so, but not full time degrees simultaneously. There is literally no difference between NIFD and NIFT, they are both popular schools for fashion designing. You may check the programme curricula on the institute websites and check the differences in terms of programme delivery, internships, company tie-ups etc. Based on surveys NIFT focuses on Fashion overall and all categories, more practical while NIFD is more into design.
