Hello Abhiram,
Normally, one can do MSc only after completing graduation in the same subject. BTech can not be considered as graduation in Physics. Hence I feel you won't be able to do MSc in Physics based on your B Tech.

NITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. NIT Calicut is one these NITs and is pretty well known all over India. According to the National Institute ranking framework it stands at 44th rank among all the engineering colleges in India.
For engineering physics out of 12 students who enrolled for placements only 2 were placed. One got a salary of 4.5 LPA and other got a salary of 4.2 LPA making the average salary 4.35 LPA as such. You should know that Engineering physics is mainly a research based branch so placements are ought to be less as compared to other branches.

In most colleges, including AIIMS, selection of students for M.Sc. in Bio-Physics is done through an entrance exam. The results for the exam will be published on 14th July 2018.
For M.Sc. Biotechnology courses, the question paper will be of 90 minutes duration consisting of 90 MCQs and the exam duration is of 90 marks.
You should purchase a few books in bio-physics like previous year papers published by AIIMS which should give you a fair idea of the syllabus covered in AIIMS entrance test. However, competition is tough and you should be thorough in your studies to crack the merit list. Good Luck!!
