Mathematics has got a great importance in the industrial and economic development of a country. M.Sc in Mathematics is the postgraduate course in Mathematics which enables the candidates to use their mathematical knowledge in different areas. This course has got great scope and there are ample opportunities available for the M.Sc graduates.
Graduates in M.Sc Physics can find different technical jobs in public and private sector. There are many opportunities available for M.Sc Physics graduates in technical field. They can work as Observations Scientist, Assistant Scientist, Quality Control Manager, Laboratory Technician, School Science Technician or Research Analyst in any government or private organization. Apart from technical field, they can also go for teaching in government or private institutions.
Each of these two courses are very different from each other, although they are part of the same tree (M.Sc), and have equivalent scope in the world of science.

Scope of Astronomy:
There is a shortage of serious research astronomers in the country. However, there are also a limited number of institutions that do research in astronomy. All you should try to get your degree under a well-recognised astronomer and you will have a reasonable chance of success.
It is desirable for a student to acquire proficiency in physics and mathematics at the graduate level and then to Astronomy & Astrophysics specialization.
Scope of Quantum Physics:
In India, one can become a scientist or a professor after studying quantum physics. Outside India, the scope is even brighter and the pay package is really high for the researchers if quantum physics.
