The University has not released the stream-wise placement data for BTech. As per the combined statistics given in the NIRF report 2024, out of 289 students, 199 were placed during Calcutta University BTech placements 2023. This makes the placement rate 69%. Calcutta University WBJEE cut off 2023 was concluded after the release of the Mop-Up Seat Allotment Result for admission to the BTech course. Yes, Calcutta University does offer BSc courses as general and honours courses for the duration of three years, divided into six semesters. The university offers BSc courses through the affiliated colleges and its campus. To get admission into the courses, applicants are required to complete their Class 12 from a Science stream with relevant subjects. 

No, direct admission is not possible at Calcutta University in the BTech course. Students must appear for the WBJEE exam for the same. Thy must also fulfil the eligibility criteria required for admission.

The eligibility criteria for the Faculty of Law at Calcutta University, apart from national-level entrance exams, include the following:
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in the best four subjects at the 10+2 level from a board recognized by the University of Calcutta. For SC/ST/persons with disabilities (disability 40% or more), a minimum of 40% marks in the best four subjects is required, excluding environmental studies of WBCHSE.
