Here, I want to mention one thing, for everything, there is pros and cons. Talking about problems and difficulties, we face, subjective: small issues in maths because Bachelor's deals with advanced concepts unlike what we dealt with Diploma. Personal : in some colleges some faculty and students may tease us. This was just in very few colleges. Rather we are embedded with great technical knowledge and many known basics are added advantages.

I think you can't go for it. Because Polytechnic is an UG programme. You need to do a Bachelor's programme for joining PG. Hope this helps. Keep asking.

You have many options available. You can apply for government as well as private services. Or, you can join Diploma. (relevant trade). For knowing various job options availability you can go with various websites and news papers.

There are many private colleges available for study. But my suggestion is to go with government colleges which would enhance ones skill.

It's ones own interest and comfort choosing the branch.
Mechanical engineering is the core branch and In my opinion polytechnic deals with self learning personally and professionally.
