Test takers will be required to speak into a high-quality microphone and headset provided at the test center. Your responses are digitally recorded and sent for automated scoring. The system assesses various aspects of your speaking, including fluency, pronunciation, intonation, vocabulary, and grammar.

On your PTE Academic test day, bring a valid, original, unexpired ID, preferably your passport. Some centers may accept other government IDs, so check the official website for alternatives.

Your results are available within 2 business days of your PTE test date. Which is faster than other English proficiency exams. It makes PTE ideal for applications with tight deadlines.

PTE exam has only two tasks in writing: Summarize Written Text (write one sentence summary) and Write Essay (200-300 words). Both PTE tasks check grammar, ideas, and simple writing skills.

PTE Academic speaking section assesses language skills through tasks like Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Re-tell Lecture, and Answer Short Question. Personal Introduction is not scored but recorded for universities to get to know the candidate. 

Several online and offline coaching institutes offer PTE preparation courses in India. These offline and online coaching institutes provide package-wise or subscription based learning courses. In these courses, test takers get tips on learning structurily under expert guidance and personalised feedback. 

Ideally you must spend at least 2-3 hours daily on studying for the PTE exam for a period of 2-3 months. It is recommended that use only the official preparation materials such as books, sample papers, taster test and mock tests. By the medium of taking the mock tests - you can get to know about the areas for improvement and work on them in due time.

You can also check several online platforms that offer online coaching for the exam. 

The PTE Academic Exam is for students looking to apply to universities and institutions abroad. The PTE Academic UKVI is for UK visa applications requiring a 4-skill language test. The PTE Home is for UK family and work visa applications and is different from the PTE at-home exam.
