Majority programs offered by NYIT are taught in English. If you are international student whose first language is not English then you are required to prove proficiency in English language. University accepts all major English language test scores as proof of proficiency. Min English language requirements for international students are IELTS score of 6.0, TOEFL 79, PTE 53 and DET 105.

You require at least a score of 65 in PTE to qualify for an Australian Permanent Residency or PR. However, the minimum level is competent English if you apply for subclass 189 or 190.

Complete short 5–10-minute practice activities each day to maintain and build your knowledge. Practice speaking English at your home, school or workplace. Join English-speaking groups. They offer the opportunity to practice both speaking and listening skills. Practice self-talk as it can be huge morale booster and will help you a lot in building confidence and alongside that you can also practice mirror talk as it has been proven to be highly beneficial.

No, you have to score a minimum of 50+ score in PTE otherwise you will get a refusal.

First of all that's pretty cool that you want to study abroad and talking about the score you acheived in PTE which is 49, I think its a bit average but many colleges in sydney do accept the score. So as per me do apply it you have a chance to get the opportunity to study your desired course. Go ahead.
