MBA from abroad is usually expensive but is totally worth the cost. IIMs are tough to crack even for toppers hence I agree with you. There are some other good colleges too but again they are only accessible via entrance exam. Now for the MBA specialization, I think he would be better off in pursuing what he is interested in.
