It is unfortunate that you have scored lower marks in Chemistry although you have a decent overall PCM percentage. I would request you to apply to private colleges.

Each university has their own set of admission requirements. These requirements are mentioned in the programme brochure. For eg Harvard mentions as follows
Each year the department receives nearly 400 applications to the doctoral programme and offers admission to about 6 percentage of applicants. The typical incoming class size is 16 students. The admissions process is extremely competitive, but if you are serious about pursuing a Ph.D. in history, you are encouraged to apply. You don't need to appear for GRE unless you are planning for MS in the US. What matters the most is GMAT. However, as far I know there is no exemption as such in US universities for GMAT which Means you must need to score good marks in GMAT (it actually differs for every university). Additionally, you also need to have a good band score in IELTS or TOEFL (if the medium of instruction in your last attended university is not English).
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Hi Mahesh, Texas is a state, your admission chance will depend on the university. There are quite a few universities in Texas. Your academics are fine but will be difficult to get into universities like UT Austin. But there are many others like UT Dallas etc. You should check university websites for admission requirements, average GRE of students profiles etc.

Hi,
If you meet admission requirements of universities you want to apply to or applying to, there is a chance. They will look at your profile holistically. Excellent recommendation letters, a strong personal statement, good projects etc. It will be considered. You have to check university websites for additional requirements such as specific programming languages knowledge, certifications etc. As for Spring intake too, you must check universities offering your desired programme in the particular intake and also the deadlines.

Hi Ravi,
Branch selection depends on your interest only. But if you want to get a job in any IT companies ASAP, then definitely go for computer science. Rest depends on your interest. Best of luck.
