In terms of cut-offs, DCRUST seems more competitive than Thapar University. However, placements is what matters.
Thapar University will expose you to some great companies like Amazon, D Shaw, Sandisk, ZS and Deloitte which might not be same with DCRUST. If your pocket is not constrained you should go for Thapar else DCRUST is a good choice considering a comparison between the same engineering branches.

The batch of 2017 saw 138 students from ECE getting placed in reputed companies like Infosys Tech, TCS, Texas Instruments, ST Microelectronics, Nagarro Software, NXP Semiconductors, Click Labs, JP Morgan, Deloitte Consulting and MU Sigma. Companies like MU Sigma, NXP Semiconductors, and Texas Instruments. There is no exact data about the package figures but it is evident that companies like MU Sigma, NXP Semiconductors, and Texas Instruments give decent packages ( ranging 5-7 lacs or even more), whereas mass recruiters like TCS and Infosys give somewhere 4-5 lacs initially.
I hope it helps.

You should fill the form available on official website, pay the required application fees and then when merit list is displayed on its website, go for the counselling accordingly.

You must fill the application form which is available on its website, pay the fee (Application Fee) and then when the cut-off is declared, you can go for the counselling process and book your seat. The average package offered at Thapar is nearly 7-8 Lacks.

No, that is not the cutoff. That is the minimum percentage you must acquire to fulfill the eligibility criteria and get admission in Thapar University (Patiala).

Yes, the above colleges do not participate in JoSSA counselling. And it is too late to apply for Thapar University-Patiala; but you have time to apply for PEC-Chandigarh. I mean, for it too, only a few days are left. So hurry up!
All the best!

Hello Akash,
No, I don't think so. UPES-Dehradun is also one of the good colleges but it is not better than Thapar, VIT and Manipal University.
I may give you the preference order for the above colleges:
1) VIT University
2) Thapar University
3) Manipal University
4) SRM University
5) UPES Dehradun
