In present times, while compared to both Thappar University and PEC, Chandigarh University surely is a better one for B.Tech CS in many ways.

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is the epitome of futuristic learning and development in areas of engineering, technology and management. Their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are based on the latest, industry-relevant practices, with a strong emphasis on research. TIET also collaborates with prominent foreign universities for valuable learning and exchange programmes. So, in my concern it doesn't matter from where you are studying, what matters is how you are leaning and studying CSE. So, you can choose TIET without thinking twice for an experiential learning of your B.Tech. Journey.

Hi Hartej,
For CSE, average package is around INR. 7 lacs - INR. 9 lacs and that of ECE is around INR. 5 lacs - INR. 6 lacs. Enough data is not provided by the college, but the highest package of 2017 was 40 lacs and placement record each year is more than 85%. Hope it helps.

Hello Hartej Singh,
The only authentic information that could be found out is that the average package for year 2017 was of 6.9 Lacs. I am attaching a link of Thapar University that will give you some information about placements but not what you asked. Hence, it can be surmised that any other information may not be authentic. http://www.thapar.edu/placements
Best wishes.

Hello Hartej Singh,
Ash! Comparison between SRM and Thapar? Thapar is very old establishment of Punjab and has quite good and unmatched reputation particularly in North India. On the other hand, SRM is comparatively new entrant in this field. However this institution has made its presence felt on all India bases and offers value for money. Being new, has introduced the latest concepts in teaching process etc. Major companies visit both these instructions for placements and CTC offered is comparable. In view of foregoing I would recommend that you should take admission wherever you get.
Best wishes to you.

Hello,
Which companies come to Thapar University for placements of B.Tech, or other category of students depends to a large extent on the industrial climate of the country at that point in time. It varies from year to year, and hence the truthful answer would be, the chances are quite bright for JP Morgan to come to Thapar University, if they are going to recruit many people in India. However, this is subjective and JP Morgan may change their mind from year to year, and also can decide on which colleges they visit for such placements. It is worthwhile to know that, if you are going to enter college now, after 4 years when you pass out,
