The teaching staff at Cape Institute of Technology is mostly considered supportive and experienced. Most of the professors are properly qualified, many having higher qualifications and professional work experience. The professors are approachable and can be found readily available to provide help outside regular class hours. But, similar to most universities, the teaching quality can also be inconsistent in some departments.

The admission procedure is mostly merit-based, depending on academic record and entrance exam scores; however, the competition is not as high as that in premier government engineering colleges.
