The TNEA counseling is conducted by Anna University. It is conducted for all colleges in Tamil Nadu, not only for A.R. Engineering College (AREC). The result date for this is usually decided from the TNEA schedule released officially by the Tamil Nadu Government. Generally, results are announced 2-3 months after the process has started. For example, the process was started on 6th May 2024, and the results were announced on 13th August 2024. In 2025, the process was started on 7th May, and the ranks were allotted on 7th July.

Though it has not been declared yet, the TNEA 2025 cutoff for CIET, Coimbatore, is expected in July 2025 after counseling. The cutoff ranks for B.E./B.Tech courses in the general category, based on 2023 trends, were between 3042 and 22638, with B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science closing at 25075.  Cutoff marks differ by branch and category but usually range between 170-190 out of 200.  After counseling rounds, candidates can look for detailed information at tneaonline.org.

The management quota, which constitutes 50% of seats, permits entry into Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology's (LICET) B.E./B.Tech course without TNEA.  45% in 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) is the requirement for candidates belonging to the general category.  The process consists of applying directly on the LICET website, submitting supporting papers, and attending the college's entrance exam and interview.

Admission to B.E./B.Tech courses in GRT Institute of Engineering and Technology is primarily based on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling, where your Class 12 marks are taken into account for merit-based selection. Direct admission without participating in TNEA is not usually possible, as the institute follows the general state counselling process for allotment of seats. You need to apply through TNEA, specify GRT Institute as your choice, and attend the centralized counselling for getting admission in B.E./B.Tech courses.
