As a civil engineer, you will have to plan out, design and supervise the construction of different types of buildings. You need to posses good knowledge of mathematics and Science. Also, you must also have good supervisory and administrative skills.

At Vellore, there are more placements for all courses. So you need not worry and I will opt for IT only because VIT offers huge placements for IT and CSE only.

2) VIT Vellore.
3) Manipal University.
4) Thapar University.

Both the colleges are the top most colleges of India so you may consider any one of them, however, if you are determined and have that passion to work hard, then definitely take a break for JEE Advanced.

1. Placements are good.
2. Faculty members have excellent subject knowledge.
3. Class room facility is also good.
4. Hostel rooms are good, but there are strict rules for hostel students.
5. You can't expect any industrial visit apart from HR department.
6. Major advantage is that you can get dual program.
7. There is a fully flexible credit system for students so that they can choose their class timings and faculty.
8. Apart from studies various club activities are organised.
9. Cultural activities are very good.
