As per my opinion, if you want to try for private universities, except VIT vellore there are other great options available like GGSIPU, Delhi or Pune universty colleges and various others in Pune where you will get good environment, good exposure and good study culture, good campus placements too. So, dont go for either of them neither NITs of low level nor VIT because, although I am not much aware but campus placements might not be as you expect from a government engineering college and after all culture around you matters the most, which you will get in metro-cities like Delhi or Pune. Choose your branch and location wisely. Give fir

Hi Yashoda,
It is possible to get CSE or biotechnology at VIT-Vellore but you can get only under category 2,3,4 or 5 if you will be called earlier, you can easily get a seat but you might have to pay a little more fee if you don't get admission in category 1.
You can surely get admission, but not under category 1. If you have luck, you may get admission in category 1.
All the best.

Hi Jani,
The admission for your rank is through phase 2 counselling means you will be called a little late. So, you have to pay more fee.
The category is based on the no. of candidates who choose electrical engineering and the other branches of VIT such as Chennai, Bhopal, and Amaravati.
At the counselling, you will have to choose only the available seat means which category is available, you have to go for the available option. It cannot be predicted exactly.
You may get or you may not get admission.
The no.of seats available will be updated on the official website of VIT.
Link: www.vit.ac.in
So, you can refer to the website from the day 1 c

Hey there,
I'm a student of VIT-Chennai. 30k rank is actually a good one. VIT-University follows a slot based system, you can get mechanical engineering with your rank. Your choice is Vellore, so you may come in the second slot with a little higher tuition fee. But a seat is available for a score of 30k.

You may get. Chances are low but if there are some drop outs in the first 10000 ranks, then you might get.
Attend the counselling and try your luck.
All the best.

Vellore campus is very expensive.
Every one want admission in Vellore campus.
Vellore is first choice of students.
But, in second campus you didn't get luxury facility like Vellore .
So, students are not interested in second campus.
But, in education level both are good.
But, facility is weak point.

The better one is VIT-Vellore because it is widely preferred by the students for B.Tech and CSE. SRM is also good but if you get VIT go for it.
Both are good but the fee structure is a little high as they are private universities.
Salary packages depend on the candidate's skills and also the companies that offer core jobs. The candidates should have some additional skills to get placed easily.

Dear Kishore,
It's up to your and skills, of course, you can get good salary packages after doing M.Tech & B.Tech dual degree courses. I would suggest you to choose CSE branch.
