After doing B.Tech, I would suggest, you should do Masters in automobile engineering. It is the best sector. After software sector, the automobile sector is the largest sector in terms of job opportunities. There is more demand for automobile engineers, so do this course.

You can do summer training after your 3rd year 2nd semester. To get placed as an intern it will be an added advantage if you know any one working in the company then take their reference, by which you can easily join the company.
To apply for internship you need to take a letter from your placement cell stating that you are academically strong and have good behaviour and they can refer you to that particular company.
Along with this letter you can post your resume at the companies career portal to get your training done and can apply for the internship program.

The minimum qualification for Diploma in engineering is class 10th. After completing class 10th, Diploma engineering is a three years course. There are some universities offering direct admission in 2nd year through lateral entry, who has completed class 12th.
