Hello,Any student other than those belonging to Karnataka also can pursue their Bachelor of engineering courses in the state of Karnataka. The only restriction is government colleges or government aided colleges. They restrict admissions to students who belong to Karnataka and who had given KCET examination. For privately funded colleges a different examination called COMEDK is conducted and you can get admission to non-aided private Engineering Colleges through this test. There are many Deemed to be universities in Karnataka also which conduct their own examination on an all India basis. Best wishes to you.

Maharashtra is among the few states, which does not conduct any entrance examination for giving admission directly into second year of engineering colleges by what is called as the lateral mode of admission.
