Hi
You must meet the general eligibility criteria of UPSEE. You must have passed your class 12 exam from a recognised board or university with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology /Mathematics/Biotechnology as compulsory papers. You must have passed each compulsory subject without grace marks.
Candidates who wish to take admission in the above mentioned courses through UPSEE 2022 should have completed the Bachelor's degree from any recognised University with minimum marks of 50% for general category and 45% for reserved category.

For B.Tech in mechanical engineering marks required could be 85+ percentile for general category or may even fall down to 80 percentile as seats are increasing. However it may even be less if youhave reservation like Sc, st, obc and ews. If you don't have home state quota it could be even higher like for people from not madhya pradesh.

- Admission to 100% of the seats in BTech is done on the basis of JEE Advanced ranks during JoSAA counselling
- Cutoff reservations, however, are applicable to SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC-NCL/ PwD candidates as per Govt. of India rules

For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Civil Engineering was 6556 which is very close to this range. This was for General category under all India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in IIT.
