Usually civil engineering students go for a masters degree or a Ph.D. program. Many of them get admits into various abroad universities. This is the trend I have mostly observed among my seniors. As per my knowledge very few core civil companies visit our college NITK, Surathkal. Some of them include L&T, BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) and the pay offered by BPCL is really good considering the fact that it is a PSU and hence includes more benefits. Apart from these core companies data analytic profile and management profile are offered by various other companies. Quantiphi analytics, Thorogood, ZS Associates, i3 consulting and many more are open to civil students in NITK.

Haldia Institute of Technology is located in Midnapore.
It is one of the best private colleges in West Bengal.
And civil engineering is one of the core branches offered by the Haldia Institute of Technology.
This college is also known for its faculty, infrastructure and campus.

Placements: It is very good in the software-related branches but less than average in the core branches. The highest salary package offered was 7.7 Lacs by Huawei, and the lowest offered was 2.5 Lacs by a local private company.
The average package for the students of the civil engineering in the placement is about 3-4 Lacs.

In terms of placements, frankly, very few institutes have campus placements. Maybe that is the reason many civil engineers opt for IT companies in campus placements. Also, if you compare the salary package you get in civil with many of the other branches there is a high chance that you might be disappointed. There are very few companies who go out for campus placements in the first place, but a very good thing about the branch is that there are jobs always in the market. With the growing real estate and infrastructure sectors in India, the scope of civil engineering is too good. Of campus, jobs are there in plenty, maybe not good packages, but you will not sit at home for a long time.
