You are advised to appear for GATE to do M.Tech on civil engineering. Incase you are interested in technical career you may appear in MBA Entrance Examinations such CAT, XAT, MAT etc. In case you want to go abroad for PG, you may appear in GRE and GMAT.

Since you're looking for civil engineering, and placements are the priority, I'd suggest you to look for other colleges. As far as civil engineering is concerned, they are one of the least preferred departments when it comes to campus placements. This year, there are only two out of the fourteen companies which have come so far, which are asking for civil engineering students. If you want to do government jobs then you should take the civil branch, otherwise, you should take EEE branch. In civil engineering, you can also take a private job but government jobs will be better. First, you should decide that in which stream you have interest and then take any decision.
