For x < 0 0 < ex < 1 [ex] = 0

0 x < 1 a e x + [ x 1 ]

= a e x + [ x ] 1

= a ex – 1             b + [sin px]

f ( x ) = [ 0 x < 0 a e x 1 0 x < 1 b 1 1 x < 2 c x 2 ]

For f to be continuous at x = 0

a – 1 = 0 ⇒ a = 1

a + b + c = 1 + e + 1 e = 2 a + b + c 1
