CUET

1. Legal Studies: This is the most crucial domain-specific subject. It tests your basic understanding of legal principles, the Indian Constitution, the judiciary, and fundamental rights.
2. General Test: This section covers a broad range of topics designed to assess general aptitude and awareness. Key areas include:
   • General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Awareness of national and international news, history, geography, and general science.
   • Logical & Analytical Reasoning: Assessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills (e.g., puzzles, series, analogies, syllogisms).
   • Quantitative Reasoning: Basic mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics) up to Class 8 level.
   • English or Hindi Language: Proficiency in either English or Hindi is assessed through reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, etc. (Candidates choose one language section).

• Minimum Marks: Most universities require a minimum aggregate of 45% to 50% marks in the qualifying examination, with relaxations for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD).

2. Fill the CUET Application Form:
   • Register and fill out the online CUET application form during the specified period (usually February-April).

6. Participate in Seat Allocation: The university will release merit lists (cutoffs) based on CUET scores. If a seat is allocated to you, you must "Accept" it on the portal.
7. Document Verification and Fee Payment: The college will verify your documents (Class 10th and 12th mark sheets, photo ID, transfer/migration certificate, category certificates if applicable, CUET scorecard, etc.). After successful verification, pay the admission fee to confirm your seat.

• Any three subjects from Section II (domain subjects), with at least two from List B1
• All subjects chosen in CUET must have been studied by you in Class XII 

• You must take a History domain subject in CUET if you studied it in Class XII.
• You must take an Economics domain subject in CUET if you studied it in Class XII.
• If you did not study Economics in Class XII, you would select another subject you did study to fulfill the "any three subjects" criteria.

• CUET Subject Combination: The required subjects within the CUET exam usually involve the General Test  (Section III) for most B.A. programs at Sikkim University.   • In recent years, the initial cutoffs for B.A. (Hons) Arts and Social Science on the main campus (FMC/MMV) generally started at around 340-360 out of 400 or 350 total marks, depending on the year's marking scheme.
  • When the total CUET score for the relevant subjects (Language + General Test) is considered out of a larger total (e.g., 750 or 1000 marks), the required scores for the main campus often fall in the range of 500-600+ for the general category.
  • Expected cutoffs for the general category in the main campus were around 373 marks (out of 500 or 750 depending on the calculation method) in the first round of counselling for the B.A. (Hons) Arts program.
• Your Score: Your score of 351 out of 1000 is below the typical range required for the main campus under the general category. Competition for seats in the main campus is very high.

• Self-financed Courses: For certain self-financed B.A. specializations like Media Studies or Fashion Design & Technology, the fees are significantly higher, ranging from approximately ₹15,000 to over ₹1,00,000 in total. 

• Main Campus Cutoff Trends: The first merit list cutoff for the B.A. programme (General/Unreserved category) at the main campus typically starts at 420 marks and above  (out of 800). In previous years (e.g., 2024), the initial cutoff was even higher, around 618 marks.
• Later Rounds: While cutoffs do drop in subsequent counseling rounds, the scores usually don't go as low as 345 for the main campus general category in popular B.A. subjects.
• Affiliated Colleges: A score of 345 marks might make you eligible for admission to one of the affiliated colleges of Allahabad University, such as Ewing Christian College (ECC) or Chowdhary Mahadev Prasad Degree College (CMP Degree College), which have lower cutoff thresholds than the main campus.
• Reserved Categories: If you belong to a reserved category (OBC, SC, ST, EWS), the cutoffs are significantly lower, and 345 marks could offer a better chance of admission depending on the specific category and course.
