You can study if you have a good profile. Backlogs are considered if not a big number and if you have improved on your marks after clearing the backlogs. Since Canadian colleges are competitive I will also advise you to keep other country options also.

It will be better for you if you don't change your trade neither you will face many questions or problem whenever you attend an interview.
Now, it's your choice.

Yes, you can change your trade in BE. And, your percentage is also good but you have to qualify LEET entrance examination and cross the cut-off according to the college and branch.

You will not get NIT with this score but go for private colleges. You will get your desired branch there!
Or you can also give another year to preparation of JEE.
Choose carefully!
