Hello. Yes you have guessed it right. In Cse, you will be doing coding all your life after graduation which requires a lot of hard work. That is the reason many Cse graduates move on to MBA or something after 8-10 years down the line.
Placement record is better in Cse than ece. But these 2 are different streams. If you wish to get into hardware like microprocessor, arduino etc, then ece is the branch. If you like coding, then go for Cse. ECE graduates don't get placed with google, Microsoft etc. But Cse people do. There are certain good companies that hire ece people as well like Texas instruments, national instruments, Qualcomm etc. Do not go for higher package, explore your interest and then choose what is right branch for you as there are many Cse/ece graduates who tend to get into the non technical profile like analyst, consultant after graduation as they do not like the technical work of their stream.
