The eligibility for the programme is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (engineering. ). (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. Yes absolutely, after Diploma students can directly come to B.Tech 2nd year by writing an entrance test, most states conduct entrance test after Diploma, Telangana conducts ECET for Diploma students to join B.Tech colleges through lateral entry.

NIT or IIT don't have B. Tech through the lateral entry you can give exam for entry in 4-year engineering, there are other good colleges like DTU and Thapar which provides lateral entry.
