Engineering Admission Process

Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Yes, After completing your 3 year Diploma you can get direct admission in B.Tech 2nd year through lateral entry. Almost every college provide admission through lateral entry if you start Diploma just after 10 you will have two Certificate I. e. Diploma and degree both withing a time span of 6 years wheres your friends will end up with degree. Eligibility for Diploma students to get admission through lateral entry.
1. Candidate must have completed 3 year Diploma course with at least 50% from a recognised board
2. Admission will be based on state entrance examination or college own examination.
3. You can take direct admission too. Diploma in mechanical engineering is a 3 year course. You can join Diploma course after your class 10. You will get exposure for what is mechanical engineering, you have to study first year concept of B.Tech mechanical engineering. Many students join Diploma in mechanical engineering after 10th.

Engineering is a full-time four-year undergraduate course degree offered by Jadavpur University, Kolkata and approved by AICTE.
Admission Process:
Provisional admission will be made on the basis of the Provisional Admission Letter for a seat of Jadavpur University issued by the WB-JEM for Joint Entrance Examination for Admission to Engineering, Medical/Technological Degree Colleges at any of the Reporting Centers provided the candidate satisfies the prescribed following medical fitness (except for candidates applying under Physically Challenged quota).
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in General Stream of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination of a University/Board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English are eligible for provisional admission to the First Year Class of the aforesaid Undergraduate Engg/Tech/Arch/ Pharm courses.
