Civil Services examination:

The period of two years of M.Com could be effectively utilized towards the preparation of these examinations.
Job in banking sector:
IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts regular examinations known as CWE the score of which is used by various banks for selection of persons for various posts. Banks now-a-days don't conduct separate exams for selection of candidates for their vacancies. Hence the score of the CWE is becoming increasingly relevant these days. You can utilize the period of your post graduation for preparation of CWE.
If you have good communication skills, have a charismatic personality, and are dependable and confident, MBA with HR specialisation can help you launch a career in human resource development, industrial relations, and personnel management. HR is not only about common-sense. You have to have specific skills and aptitude for the job. You should take this decision on the basis of your own interest and competencies, Choosing a specialization in pgdm is a very important one and one should not go with the external factors like job prospects etc to chose that, because if you are not good in something but choosing that just out of better job prospect you wont be able to do justice with your career. First search about the options you are weighing, go through the course curriculum, subject matter, and analyze the competencies it demands from you, in this way you would be able to make a sound decision. and talking about your background although it is said that finance background is required to do pgdm in finance but as I mentioned at the end it all depends how much and better you have absorbed the knowledge of your specialization.

Before you make the final decision, let me state that HR professionals are born and not made. I am talking from my experience of working with multinational and top Indian corporate houses, for over 25 years as a trainer. There are of course two schools of thought on this. Moreover, I have observed students, with girls on the higher side. opting for HR, because they have this wrong notion, that HR is a cushy and comfortable job. To make your career in HR, apart from having innate skills, you need to have a very strong background in psychology or sociology.
