The closing rank for most NITs this year is around 12860. Closing rank differs from branch to branch and from one college to another. Every branch has a different opening and closing rank.

Both are good. Through JEE Mains, you can get some good govt. colleges also but via COMEDK, you can get top private colleges in India such as RV College, BMSIT, PES or MS Ramaiah.

It is quite difficult to get seat through counselling, as your score is not affective. And, on the same way getting seat in civil is not possible. You may try for management quota. If you are in Mumbai region, then Dutta Megha will be the good option.

Yes, ofcourse if you want to get admission in that college, you must have a good score in JEE Mains. JEE Advanced score is not required if your Mains score is good.

Dear Sonu,
The admission in COEP is based on marks obtained in MHT-CET taken by Maharashtra State Government. If you score 181 out of 200 in CET, it is guaranteed that you can get a seat in COEP for Computer Science branch.

Cut-off marks states that if you have that marks or above that marks, then you have successfully qualified the exam. In JEE Mains, if you have a score more than or equal to the cut-off, then you are qualified to sit for JEE Advanced. For all the other entrances, it depends. Some give rankings to only those candidates who have marks more than cut off marks.
