As marks reduce, ranks increase rapidly. Suggested either an exponential function or a polynomial one. Got sufficient data by asking students to send me their marks and ranks – experimenting with the data found a reasonable fit with a formula as rank = ((k – marks) / n)^p.
Thus for 2010, rank = ((480 – marks) / 55)^5.5;
for 2011, rank = ((520 – marks) / 55)^5.5;
and for your year, 2012, rank = ((430 – marks) / 45)^5.5 worked very well (obviously, there is disparity between actual and calculated – more at the top level ranks).

Personally, I don't think they can be compared. Both have different aspects.
JEE BARCH
It includes engineering level maths. You'd prepare for it the same way you'd do for paper 1 maths.
The aptitude section is very easy. Gk and logic questions are easy to crack.
The drawing section isn't very demanding and is just a basic approach.
It is 3 hours paper. ( maths and aptitude. +Drawing paper)
NATA
It includes general maths. The one you studied in 9th-10th std. Hardly 2-3 questions are expected. (Included in the online test among the 40 questions)
It has a drawing paper which requires you to analyse views (like bird's eye view, ant's eye

Jee mains and BITSAT are relatively of the same level though Jee Mains is getting tougher every year. Well for Jee mains, solve NCERT Textbook Exercises and NCERT Exemplar of PCM thoroughly.
What I have realised is that they ask very typical objective questions from chemistry and maths. In physics, I would recommend you to go through the papers since the physics section is relatively tougher. For Jee Mains, also do topics like statistics, mathematical reasoning since they are very easy and fetch you marks. Download Jee mains 2014 and 2013 online papers also, it will give you an insight of the variety of the questions they ask.

No. The total score of the boards is used for normalization.The normalized score is for 40% but it plays a crucial role than Jee mains score.

NCERT books are quite good considering JEE mains exams.Some people might say H C Verma, I E Irodov, Resnick Halliday for physics and Morrison and Boyd for chemistry, and in general Arihant publications' books, but it boils down to the fact that for every person this list is different and it's totally up to you which book appeals to you and pick the one from which you can understand basic concepts.

The official information is not out yet. Some news sources says the recommendation of scrapping of class 12 boards marks weight-age is likely to be accepted for JEE Main.
I am not sure about the year from which it can be implemented. For 2016, I suggest you to consider 12 board marks for JEE Main.
Just wait and watch though!
