It seems impossible to join mechanical degree course on the basis of electrical diploma course. Rather you can do one thing if you have maths at your +2 you can enroll yourself in AMIE. for degree course in mechanical. So many branches are there to opt.

In Germany, automobile will be the best option.

In USA for management they are asking GMAT with atleast 3yrs of experience by most of the college.

Mechanical engineering has a very vast scope in terms of job. Almost all industries have their mechanical departments for operation and maintenance.
Choice of industry will be purely yours.
Power plant is also one of them. Here mechanical graduates can get job in operation as well as maintenance.
