NIT Calicut has a rich faculty community with technical and scientific expertise. The faculty members consist of PhD holders involved completely in teaching and research. Currently, at NIT Calicut, there are 312 faculty members, spread over the cadres of Professor (HAG), Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor.

Admission to MBA at NIT Calicut courses are completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to this course must apply and appear for the CAT exam in the first place. After the CAT result declaration, candidates must apply for MBA on the official website of NIT Calicut. Further, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for GD and PI rounds for the final selection. After the completion of all the selection rounds, the final result will be declared on the official website of NIT Calicut.

NIT Calicut has 13 hostels on the campus, out of which 10 are for boys and 3 for girls. These include two mega hostels for boys and a 500-seat mega hostel for ladies. Messes operated by outsourcing are available in all hostels. Hostel administration is through the Chief Warden and the Council of Wardens, appointed by the Director. The Hostel and Mess Committee, with student members, manages the hostels and mess halls.

NIT Calicut covers an area of around 120 hectares. The campus is green, and the ambience is very enjoyable. It is a residential campus, with all amenities available on and around the campus. There are various facilities available for students and faculty on campus. The additional facilities include Health Centre, Institute Guest House, Canteens, Post Office, State Bank of India, Branch ATM of SBI, PNB, Day Care Centre, Engineering Unit, Language Lab, Faculty and Staff Quarters and Apartments, Recreation- Open Air Theatre, Auditorium, Faculty and Staff Club, Nursery School, Spring Valley School (CBSE) – Class 1 to 12, Government H

The SILA Scholarship at NIT Calicut is offered to BTech students in the Department of Civil Engineering. The scholarship is given to those students who have scored the highest and the second the highest in their first, second, and third years of study. The scholarship will be offered to six students in total. The highest scorer will get an amount of INR 50,000, and the second-the highest student will get INR 20,000.

Yes, students at NIT Calicut can change their branch at the end of the first year exam if they score more than 8.5 GPA. Candidates who have successfully completed the first two semesters of the courses in the first attempt with CGPA of not less than 8.00 will be eligible for change of branch.
