NIT Calicut College Review.
Placements: Looking at the states, more than 75% of students find jobs every year, mainly in management positions, with starting packages usually above 8 LPA. Just recently, some of our seniors scored impressive placements. One even got a whopping 36 LPA. Another senior from the mechanical course landed a package of 22 LPA, while others had seen offers around 16 LPA. It was pretty exciting to see how well everyone is doing.
Infrastructure: One noteworthy positive characteristic about the university is the statement of the modern infrastructure being accompanied by extra resources. The public library not only had a wide range of books and novels but also had different academic journals. The canteen was big and offered a variety of dishes and drinks that were served in a customer friendly place. Students appreciate living in the well managed hostel where the food is not only satisfactory but also meets the basic quality standards.
Faculty: Teachers were approachable and they took things step by step, therefore making the examples very simple and relatable for the students to understand. The exams were easy, and they mainly focused on conceptualizing the topic. Semester assessment was completely dependent on the high school curriculum and was easy in nature.

An overview of NIT Calicut.
Placements: NIT Calicut offers good placements. But recently the placements have gradually decreased. CSE offers the best placements followed by ECE and EEE. The average package is about lakhs, and the highest is 44 LPA this year. In CSE, almost hundred percent of students get placed.
Infrastructure: NIT Calicut provides very neat hostels and infrastructure facilities. The food provided in the hostel is also good. They provide both Northern and Southern food. Sports facilities on the campus are average compared to other institutions. There is a healthcare center on campus for students and faculty members.
Faculty: Faculty members at NITC are well-experienced and educated. Every teacher is highly qualified. The course curriculum is very well updated, and it changes at regular intervals of time. Semester exams are not that much difficult. You can score easily if you study properly.
Other: The campus life at NITC is so much better than at any other NIT. In South India, the largest cultural fest is happening in NIT namely Ragam and technical fest Tathva.

My four years of B.Tech in NITC.
Placements: In EEE, around 40% of students get placed, with the majority placed in software companies. In CSE, almost 100% of students get placed. CSE has an average CTC of 20 LPA, with the highest being 54 LPA. It is very hard to get placed in core companies, and the CTC is also less. Last year, Qualcomm only took M.Tech students for hardware roles.
Infrastructure: The hostels are good, with New Mega being the best hostel. All classrooms are smart classrooms. The library is also very good, and we have a digital library as well. Most of the messes are good, offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including South Indian and North Indian cuisines. We also have a mini canteen and a micro canteen on campus.
Faculty: To be honest, most of the faculty members are not very helpful, and we have to study on our own. YouTube channels like Neso Academy, All About Electronics, etc., help us a lot during semester exams. I'm not blaming all the professors, but most of them teach just for money. EEE is the toughest branch in engineering because we need to study both electrical and electronics.
Other: I choose EEE because of its opportunities. It opens doors to both private and PSU jobs. If you are planning for an M.Tech in VLSI, then the growth will be exponential. The campus is very dynamic and always on. NITC is famous in South India because of its tech fest Tathva, and cultural fest Ragam.

NIT Calicut review from a B24 student.
Placements: 97% of students are placed in the EEE branch this year. Overall, the highest package is 67 LPA from the CSE department and the highest package is 43 LPA from the EEE department. The average package in the college is 10 LPA. In the EEE course, the average package is 13 LPA. Approximately 195 companies visited our college this year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent with really good buildings. The campus is full of greenery providing a good experience to study. 1st year hostels have 3 shared rooms. 2nd and 3rd-year hostels are of 2 sharing and 4th-year hostels are alloted single sharing rooms. There are a lot of mess halls in the college, and the taste varies from mess to mess. Sports and games are the biggest advantage of this college. The gym is the only con due to no proper equipment.
Faculty: Some faculty members interact with students and explain nicely. Some faculty members just read the PPTs and leave the class. The course curriculum focuses on the core subjects from the first year itself. So we can concentrate on our branch subjects from 1st year and do projects from 3rd year. Semester exams are moderate and it depend on the lecturers. The pass percentage is about 90%.

The campus is dull when there is no fest. Everything is in the hands of faculty on campus.
Placements: Around 97% of students who applied for placements got it. Students need to keep their GPA above 7. Learning coding will be helpful. Students speaking skills matter a lot. The average salary package is decent, not like 1 crore per annum or 2 crore per annum. Doing an internship doesn't matter much during placements.
Infrastructure: Food and hostel are good, but the buildings are old as it is an old establishment in our college. Campus is good, but I find it outdated. Facilities seem very old compared to the fancy private institutions.
Faculty: We just go for attendance. Teachers tend to teach, but we don't understand anything. Some professors are really great. Assignments are very important and they affect your marks. Constant learning is required. Midsem exams are tough.

The college is very good, the college fests are also good, and placements are also very good.
Placements: 98 percent of people are placed in 2024, and the average package is 12 LPA. The top recruitment company is Texas Instruments. 30 percent of them got internships, and the college is also good for other courses like Civil, Chemical, and Civil, which also have good placements.
Infrastructure: Every room has individual Wi-Fi, and hostels are neat and clean. The weather is always good there, so there is no need for AC. The classrooms are also good, and there is a huge 300-acre campus with a hill. Campus life and the library are so good; you don’t have to purchase any books from outside as they are already available in the library.
Faculty: The faculty is average. In college, you have to study by yourself; you cannot be dependent on professors. In one semester, there will be two exams: One mid-sem exam, which is of 30 marks, and an end-sem exam, which is of 50 marks, along with 20 marks for assignments and quizzes. The course curriculum is sufficient for core branches, but for the upper branches, semester exams are a little bit tricky.
Other: I got this course in my KPSSA counseling. There are lots of events that happen in college, and we have two of the largest South India fests: Tathva, a technical fest, and Ragam, a cultural fest. The campus is so good, with a lot of clubs for extracurricular activities.

It's really a good NIT to join.
Placements: Placements are good. Big companies like Google, Amazon, etc. visit here. I'm not placed yet, but most of my seniors got placed. Internships are also provided in the Internship drive. The average package is 10 LPA. Placement and internships are orderly managed.
Infrastructure: Food is okay. We have both north and south mess options. Each hostel has its own mess. Hostels are separate for boys and girls. Boys have A, B, C, D, E, F, H, and Mega Boys Hostels. For girls, there are Ladies Hostels and Mega Ladies Hostels.
Faculty: Exams are strictly conducted. Faculty is very skilled in their subjects. Labs are provided for respective departments. Each semester has two exams: Mid-term and End-sem, with internal marks. Every semester, labs are conducted according to the subjects.

NIT Calicut - An Overview .
Placements: The placements at NIT Calicut are the best of any engineering college in Kerala. The total percentage of placements was around 85% and the percent of placements in EEE was around 94%, with the highest package being around 38 LPA. Internships and placements are offered to students by different companies, such as TVS Motors, Atlassian, Bosch, Texas Instruments, SAP, and Oracle Finance.
Infrastructure: The hostels for first years are 4 shared bedrooms and for 2nd and 3rd years, they become 2 shared bedrooms when you change to the mega boys hostel in the case of boys. There are different messed provides with the option to select your preferred mess each month, consisting of non-veg, veg or mixed. Medical facilities can also be accessed at the nearby health centre for almost no cost. There are 2 to 3 courts for various sports, as well as a badminton and table tennis courts.
Faculty: The teachers at NITC are some of the best teachers in India, with almost everyone being an IIT graduate. There is normally a midsemester exam for 39 or 25 marks and an end-of-semester exam for 50 marks. The total number of marks to be scored in a subject is 100. The rest of the marks, apart from exams, are given through assignments, class tests, and mini-projects. The semester exams are fairly tough but can be passed through a balance of study and college life.
Other: The major fests at NIT Calicut are Ragam and Tathva, the cultural and technical fests of NITC. NIT Calicut offers a lot of networking opportunities as well as connectivity through its numerous committees and clubs. Students are inducted into these clubs to find like-minded people to connect with, therefore making their college life more enjoyable. The campus surrounding nature also helps in its enjoyability. These clubs and committees also conduct events on a weekly basis so there is sufficient time for extracurricular activities as well. Various scholarships and fee waivers can be availed of by students belonging to certain categories and through their CGPA, e.g., the Egrantz scholarship.

Sorry but my answer is no 86 percentile means about 6 lakhs rank in JEE Mains. For getting admission in NITs you have to be in top 5 percentile even you have state quota of 50%. So study hard and next time get good marks. All the best!
