The entrance exam date for December 2024 PhD is 8th January. Applications opened on November 21, 2024 while the deadline to submit applications fell on December 31, 2024. The authorities released the admit card on January 3, 2025 during the admission process. All participants receive hundred multiple-choice questions which do not penalize wrong answers during the exam. Candidates needed to secure at least 50% marks in the exam to proceed to the interview round with additional 5% concession for reserved candidates. The application fee for general candidates amounted to INR 1,000 while members of reserved categories needed to pay INR 800

Selection to the Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at NISER is through fulfilling the education requirement and national exam performances, such as GATE, JEST, GPAT, CSIR NET, or ICMR JRF. These shortlisted candidates have to face a written test and/or interview.
To be eligible for the Ph.D. program, candidates need a Master's degree with 55% marks in related fields. Alternatively, a four-year Bachelor's degree with 75% marks can also be considered. School of Technology, PDEU offers admission to PhD programme based on Written Aptitude Test or WAT conducted by the school. In WAT, 50% weightage is given to research methodology and 50% to subject specific question. Selected candidates are further required to pass the personal interview round. 30% weightage is given to PI in the selection process. Aspirants with a valid score UGC-NET/ CSIR/ SLET/ GATE are exempted from appearing for WAT.

No, you cannot pursue a PhD in Nuclear Medicine directly, as nuclear medicine is primarily a clinical and technical field rather than a research-focused discipline at the doctoral level.
However, you can pursue a PhD in related fields such as Medical Physics, Radiology, Nuclear Sciences, or Biomedical Imaging, which involve research in nuclear medicine applications.
